Terms of Service
Last updated: October 4, 2026
These terms apply to your use of the NihongoDekita Podcast app at podcast.nihongodekita.com (the "App"), run by DEKITA Inc. (株式会社DEKITA) ("DEKITA", "we", "us"). By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy.
1. What the App is
The App offers Japanese shadowing episodes with transcripts, translations, vocabulary tools, listening features and, for Speaking Club members, additional content. What you can use depends on your plan.
2. Your account
You must be 15 or older to use the App. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian. You sign in with an email link or Discord. Keep your login email and Discord account secure. One account is for one person, so please do not share it. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must give a display name that is not offensive or misleading. If you signed up with email, you can change your display name in the App. If you signed in with Discord, change your name in the Discord app.
3. Plans and payment
- Transcript Access costs $5.99 USD per month. Speaking Club costs $99 USD per month for new subscriptions.
- Prices shown are final. We do not charge tax separately.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- All payments, including Speaking Club, are processed by Stripe.
- We may change prices or plans. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, and you can cancel before it starts.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from the Account page. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy for details.
5. Refunds
There is no free trial, and payments are not refunded, except in the cases listed in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
6. Our content and how you may use it
All episodes, audio, videos, transcripts, translations and other content belong to DEKITA or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for your own Japanese study. You may not copy, download, record, redistribute, resell, share your login, or use the content to train AI models, without our written permission.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the App. This includes trying to break or bypass security or membership checks, scraping content, using bots, uploading harmful material, or harassing others. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
8. Your feedback
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the App without owing you anything.
9. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the App running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features and content. Episode videos play through YouTube, so they also depend on YouTube's availability.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the App. This ends your access right away, and the current period is not refunded. Transcript Access is cancelled immediately. A Speaking Club subscription bought in the App is set to end at the close of the current period and does not renew. If you joined Speaking Club through our earlier sign-up page, please cancel it from the Account page before deleting your account.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. If we end your access because of our own decision to close the service, we will tell you in advance and refund the unused part of your current period.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The App is a language study tool. We do not guarantee any particular learning result. To the extent the law allows, the App is provided as is, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version with a new date, and tell you by email about significant changes. If you keep using the App after the change, you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. For disputes, the Nagoya District Court has exclusive first-instance jurisdiction, to the extent the law allows.
